I need help with ford engine casting numbers?
near the starter mount on my engine is the marking e0ae, then d3c, then below that a big 2.Near this on the mounting for the bell housing is 3F3. Inside where the transmission bolts up is a 1380x in a rectangle. what do these markings mean?
E0AE means: E-1980s, 0 for 1980 specifically, A for fullsize Ford, like a LTD, Galaxie, or Crown Victoria. Actually "A" is Ford's base part number. I've seen A's on Mustang parts, trucks, Lincolns, all sorts of stuff. And finally "E"
