How long do vw golf 2.0s usually last?

i bought a 2000 vw golf gl 2.0 with 155k on it it runs great no check engine except for a bad catylic converter. i am not too familiar with vw and want to know is a vw golf good enough with high miles?? and will it possibly make it to 250k without a rebuild??
