KX250 dirt bike, should I rebuild? Cheapest way?

So I have a '93 KX250, and not alot of money. I've had it for about 6-7 years, and the only maintenence I've done is air filter cleanings, and crank case oil changes, and fixed parts that broke. I know theres probably lots of things, like fork oil changes,

If the bike is smoking more than it should, something is amis. You said you found part of an exhaust valve broken off. 2 stroke engines do not have valves. My advise since the engine is apart is to pull the cylinder and have a look see at the walls.
