Upgraded to a high output alternator, now at idle battery gauge drops/fluctuates when I brake, turn on fan etc?
I have a 1995 Ford Probe 2.0, 4 cyl, manual transmission. I upgraded from the 80 amp stock alternator to a 140 amp high output alternator a few weeks ago for car audio purposes. I had the shop use 4 gauge wire and an ANL fuse from the alternator to the
upgraded alternator doesn't work well at low rpm == normal condition. Do upgrade the earth wires.
