Per was able to ask all the appropriate questions, knowing so much more about the ship than we did. He was particularly interested to hear how she had been performing and whether the Captain and crew were happy with her in action.

A huge long shaft, necessitated by the fact that the engine is located in the centre of the ship, for the sake of balance.

The Engine Rooms were huge, clean, spacious, spread over several decks, hot and some of them a bit noisy. All very impressive -- I wish I knew more about these engines!

This may be the place where the propeller shaft is accelerated.

Ebba has one single propeller and one single main engine -- there is plenty of redundancy in most of the other engines.
